Believe me, a lot of companies are already in the bot business. But if it does the task much faster compared to an agent average response time, I think it’s time to adapt and believe in bots.
For your second part where you called the bluff of the bot, I think it is fair to answer something weird when a question is asked out of the scope. The bot is designed to do one task and to do it well. So the user/companies needs to be clear on what can be asked to the bot and what not. I think you would not have asked the same question to an agent when on call. So I guess the bots game is only fair if we let it be fair. But again, we are humans.
