Deep Learning is the future of Behavioural Psychology

I consider traditional Operant Conditioning to be outdated… And in some contexts… Outright wrong… The real future of psychology is Deep Learning.

Why is Deep Learning the future of Psychology though?

Well it’s simple… Operant Conditioning is when you reward someone for behaving well… You punish them for behaving poorly…

There’s one problem with these methodologies that have been stringent for a very long time. Our incentives to reward and punish are all wrong.

These poorly aligned incentive structures systemically have led to problems in humanity far greater then you would think…

Here’s some context:

We punish people for getting an education at a prestigious school? Why does a student have to pay $100k/year to get a good education?

We punish people for buying food, or even owning a property… Even if you do own a property with zero mortgage. Property taxes are on going every year… The structure of the housing economy needs to be realigned… Or rather, more rational…

We reward people for making harmful policies… When in reality, problems should be assessed in a case by case analysis. Why ban all Mexicans, when we just don’t want the criminals… And we want the ones who want to learn and educate themselves.

We reward people who lie, or, do not provide enough evidence for their claims… Like how Theranos claims it’s as accurate as intravenous testing…

Regardless, if you read between the lines… Understand the problems that we as society are facing. Maybe you too can utilize Deep Learning and Automation to make society and the world a better place.
