How to Get Started Using Artificial Intelligence in Your Business
Artificial Intelligence has arrived and now is the time to take advantage.
It is amazing how accurate movies were in predicting future technologies. We are on the path, and while the outcomes are unknown, the mandate is pretty clear. Your business is going to use AI or your business is going to get left in the dust. If you are not utilizing the power of Artificial Intelligence, your competition will be.
So, where do you start?
The foundation of anyAI infrastructure is the language.
If you are utilizing Artificial Intelligence in your business, you are going to want to communicate with that interface using your language. When you start with language, all of the other modules can be added. Your AI needs to understand the language of your business and communicate that language to your employees, your prospects, and your customers.
Today we are going to look at what it takes to build a language infrastructure for your business. Language is the foundation of everything we do. Even if you cannot speak, you have language. When we think of artificial intelligence, we usually think of Terminator or some science fiction movie. The science-fiction fantasies about artificial intelligence may be possible, but the positive attributes of artificial intelligence are already being experienced by the people who are implementing it.
Machines do some things better than we do.
There are some things that we can do better.
However, if you plug a machine into a deep learning algorithm, it is going to exponentially improve over time. Deep Mind, for example, can be given a game with rules, and through competing with itself, achieve superhuman level within 24 hours in most cases. Now, this is a Google AI, and of course, the big corporations are keeping the good AI to themselves.
This is why people like Elon Musk are pursuing ethical pursuits of AI that will make it more available for everyone. The playing field isn’t going to be equal either way.
That is the point. You are not a billion-dollar corporation like Google, but you can use Google to put yourself lightyears ahead of what your competition is doing and here is how.
Let me introduce you to DialogFlow
DialogFlow is powered by Google’s machine learning. I believe Google just does most things better. They have a monopoly on pretty much everything, but it is actually to the advantage of the end-user. This is because all of the Google products work together. DialogFlow is one of those products.
The great thing about DialogFlow, is you don’t have to pay for it until after you build your application out and figure out all of the capabilities you want it to have. You can put a custom chat agent on your site for instance at zero cost.
Dialog Flow is more than just a language interface. It allows you to program mechanized action for anything. The only limit is your imagination. We are looking at language today because that is the foundation of your AI system.
If you own a restaurant and 5 years from now, you want to be able to utilize your AI system as an employee, it is going to need to understand what you say, and communicate back in the language of your business.
How to get started with DialogFlow
Today we are just looking at the basics. I am going to be sharing a lot more on this subject in the future, but this should get you off on the right foot, and thinking about that future.
You start this process by thinking about the language of your business. The language of your business is going to give you an idea of how to structure your language interface.
What are your products?
What questions are in your FAQ?
What is a typical conversation you have with a customer?
Creating an agent that will work on your behalf is easy.
You aren’t talking about Sophia here. People are going to know they are talking to AI, but that AI is going to be integrated into everything digital about your business, from your receipts to payroll. That AI is going to remember everything ever said perfectly. It is going to be your ears and eyes. Once you teach it what you want it to do, it isn’t going to make mistakes.
