Sachin Dev Duggal Engineer.AI Dubai Business Perspective
Dubai has been nurturing rapid growth since the tail-end of the 90’s. However, the country has had a lot of incentive recently, for opening up its domestic markets to the world. Globalisation had reached the shores of the Golden City, almost as soon as tourism became one of its biggest draws.
Traditionally, the country’s major export has been crude oil; but now, pulling back over-reliance on petroleum, the Saudi government shifting its attention towards FDI (Foreign Direct Investment). Lately, many conglomerates have opened shop in Dubai.
Of these, there seems to be an overabundance of Tech/IT companies, who seem to have found a new base of operations — companies like CIS, and OpenExcell have contributed to a massive data-flow into the crown jewel of the UAE. “(Dubai) has been an undeserved market and is ready for a platform that can digitally amplify its businesses. There is a massive opportunity (…) in the Middle East to support and inspire startups to build digital ideas”, says Sachin Dev Duggal, CEO of Engineer.ai.
