A Letter to Teachers
Since our first day at ReadyAI, we have interacted with teachers around the world. As I visit schools to promote artificial intelligence education, I have witnessed the daily challenge of teaching, lesson plans, lunch breaks and so many other things , which can make it easy to forget how much power you truly have as a teacher. The task of keeping order in classrooms full of energetic young students just doesn’t leave much time to truly reflect on the impact you have on their minds beyond the knowledge you are trying to impart.
Every day at ready AI, my team and I have interacted with many of you to bring artificial intelligence education to classroom. However, it is often not what you teach in the classrooms, but in your personal interactions with students that you can accomplish the most. A brief conversation after class, a complement, or even just a smile can mean a lot to a student. These moments can stay with a young person and shape their lives.
Here’s a sincere message of gratitude to all of you, to all your teachers who guide us through some of the most chaotic times of our lives as we are dealing with COVID-19. We want to remind you how much of an impact you are having, not just on each student you teach, but as a profession and a community long after classes are over.
Thank you for your time, your patience, your realness. Thank you for encouraging your students to learn artificial intelligence, for supporting them, for caring about them and their future. And thank you for seeing us as a partner in education. Thank you for inspiring us to learn and for inspiring us to help others the way you are doing everyday.
