The Adarga 2020 Interns have landed
Adarga is extremely happy to announce that our 2020 Internship programme has officially started for the next 12 weeks.
There are, of course, a few things that are different from last year: we cannot welcome our interns to the office just yet, so we’ve set them up with their projects remotely for the time being and can’t wait to see their impact.
We are lucky to have an amazing crew of six new interns across Data Science and Engineering, who’ll work alongside our two additional Language Ontology and Tagging interns, a Product Owner and Subject Matter Expert intern, and a Strategy intern who is based in NYC.
We are very pleased to announce that our intake this year has been from a range of Universities including, UCL, London South Bank, University of Durham, and University of St Andrews. We have two joiners from the University of Edinburgh, after attending their Careers in Tech and Data Fair in February. We have also strengthened our existing ties at Bristol University and Columbia University in New York, accepting an intern from each.
We have designed some exciting projects for the interns to undertake. These projects are designed to add value to Adarga’s current Roadmap. Our goal is to be able to truly leverage the hard work of our interns’ time with us to further the Adarga product vision and mission.
Our interns will be working under the guidance of an intern coordinator who, we are very happy to report, is a returning intern from the 2019 Internship programme.
In addition, each of our interns will have an Adarga employee as their direct mentor. Our mentors will assist each intern personally, to ensure that not only is their work successful, but also to provide advice and counsel on careers, education paths, and guidance as a whole.
We have a timetable of events to kick off their first week, starting with a virtual welcome drinks with the team on Friday. Throughout the rest of their time with us there are a host of engaging things planned including: learning sessions, reading groups, coffees with leadership, and more. Our goal is to be able to spend real time with our interns and collaborate in person as the programme continues.
If you have an interest in the 2021 Internship Programme next year we are always looking to further expand our University contacts across the UK and around the globe and we hope to meet at a careers fair near you.
We are very pleased to formally get our second annual summer Internship programme started, and we welcome all our interns to the Adarga Family!
