The thing is that we are at the beginning of a new profession.
Until now ML/DL was mostly used for academic research and big companies that could afford to invest in new technologies. Not many practical applications outside that scope.
In the last five years we’re starting to see a trend — the market realized data is the new currency. Clusters of servers analyzing people’s behavior in order to serve a better Ad. Suddenly, everyone wants to analyze their data and monetize it.
We’re at beginning — day by day more people realize that data is worth a lot. So we have demand but we don’t have supply because this is happening faster than academia can adapt to new trends. It will take time.
Lastly, this is a plea to all the people that already have some experience with ML,NN,DL and all the acronyms. Share your knowledge, write articles and be active in the community because that’s how we learn best.
